The Killesbergturm is an observation tower in Stuttgart. It scales to a height of 141 feet and is located towards the north of the city. The tower is also a part of Stuttgart’s “Green U” which refers to places with a combination of recreational facilities and greenery. The main objective of the tower was to give people an overview of the terrain after Stuttgart was awarded in the International Horticultural Exhibition in 1993. The primary guiding principle of the tower is to showcase that modern construction technology can harmoniously coexist with the environment.
When you look at the tall, spiral tower, the first thing that will strike you is its exemplary form of engineering. With steel ropes and air-permeable stairs, the tower might look delicate and elegant but in reality it is sturdy enough to carry quite a number of visitors at a single point in time. The most fascinating part is that as you enjoy an aerial view of the city of Stuttgart from the top, you can feel the tower gently rolling back and forth because of its build and shape. There is no reason to be afraid though! The place is completely safe.
If you feel your journey remains incomplete without some thrill, you can quickly visit the Killesbergturm and climb to the top to look at the breathtaking view of the city. You can enjoy a splendid time at the garden surrounding the tower.
