Hagaparken is
a popular recreational park area in Stockholm. It is located in Solna
Municipality of the city. It is part of the Royal National City Park and is
spoken of as a classic example of an ‘English park’ in Sweden. The first thing
that strikes you about the park is the vast amount of open space; there are
massive lawns, semi-open pastures, and also some woodland. There is a lot to
see when you come to Hagaparken.
Visit Gustav III’s Pavilion when you
come to Hagaparken. This beautiful building highlights the best of Swedish art
history from the late 18th century. Guided tours are available
inside the pavilion during summer. View the stunning Haga Palace, built in 1802
for Gustav IV Adolf by architect Carl Christoffer Gjörwell. You cannot explore
the interiors as it is still used as a residence by some of the Royal Family
members. Explore the Echo Temple here, built by Gustav III as a dining room for
the Royal Family members in 1790. The Copper Tents were erected by Gustav III
in 1787 and were initially used as barracks for the guards and as stables. Now
you find the cool Copper Tents café here and also a museum with some exciting
exhibits. Visit the Copper Tents café for some great food when you are at
Hagaparken.
