The Czech Republic’s largest city, and also its capital, Prague strategically hugs the Vltava River and has always played an important part in central Europe’s politics, culture and economy. The Prague Castle dominates Prague’s left bank, attracting visitors with its historic buildings, museums and cultural treasures behind its fortress-like walls. Prague’s rich Jewish history can be experienced in the city’s Jewish Museum, the Jewish Quarter with the Old-New Synagogue and the haunting Jewish cemetery dating back 1000 years.
