This amusement park is within the huge City Park, it is located in the western section close to the Botanical Garden and Storyland. The site features 16 rides for all ages. The most famous ride is the antique wooden carousel. The Flying Horse Carousel is the oldest ride in the park dating back to 1906 although some of the animals are even older and were carved in 1885. The carousel began life on a stretch of land along City Park Ave and came to its present location in 1928. Each of the carousel animals was hand carved and painted by Charles Looff and Charles Carmel. Some of the animals feature faux gems stones. The 53 animals are well maintained and repainted every two years. The carousel is a registered National Historic Place. The amusement park rides are not just for small children there are also a Ferris wheel, roller coaster and other thrilling rides for older kids and adults. Each ride has its own height restriction.
