This crescent-shaped beach is located at the southwestern
tip of Kapalua on the North West side of the island. It is the safest
year-round swimming beach thanks to two reefs at both ends of the bay which
keep the water calm. Looking out across
the water you can see the island of Moloka'i or "Friend's Island." The beach
has soft white sand and the water is translucent and perfect for snorkeling for
the first time and for families with kids. However there is no life guard on
duty and there is no stand or store selling food and snacks. There are toilets
and showers.
This beach is the place to try snorkeling as there is a rich
marine life just below the surface especially on the right side of the beach. There
is a Beach Activity Desk where you can get information about renting water
sport equipment and other beach activities. Visitors to this beach can park
their cars in the free beach parking lot just north of the Napili Kai Beach
Resort at the end of Kapalua Place then walk through a tunnel which leads to
the beach. You can also reach the beach from the Coastal Trail.
