The West End or Theatreland are names for the theatre district in London. This is where you will find the best plays, musicals and entertainment. It is sort of the Broadway of England.
There are over forty theatres showing assorted musicals so there are always seats available for your favorites. If you are looking for an interesting cultural experiences catching a musical will be well worth the time and money. There is something for everyone in this theatre district. So unless you are more interested in going out to the clubs or bars each night, you might want to take the trip down to the West End to soak in the London nightlife with some good music.

If you are in to rock music then you might want to check out the show called We Will Rock You, which is one of London’s most popular musicals. Michael Jackson fans will surely want to go see a musical called Thriller Live. This is an outstanding tribute to the entertainer, his music and his life. Wicked is a story about the witches from the old favorite The Wizard of Oz. If you haven’t seen the movie in awhile you might want to watch it again to understand all of the references, but if you don’t then it is still a really good show. If you like comedies or the music of ABBA then you won’t want to miss Mamma Mia! This show even has audience participation and is a good time for everyone.
The musical entitled The Book of Mormon is more for an adult audience, and not for people who get offended easily. It is from the makers of the television show Southpark and is just as offensive as an episode of that. But, the humor is witty and creative so if you’re looking for some vulgar humor this show will keep you in stitches.     
The theatre district is easily accessible by public transportation. In fact, many of the popular daytime tourist attractions are located nearby. You can plan your day around visiting museums, galleries, landmarks and other such activities and then go to a musical at one of the theatres that is near your ending location. There will surely be a delicious restaurant or pub nearby so you can catch dinner and a show to have a really fun night on the town.
